| Preschool Program:
General Information St. Boniface has several different programs that offer convenience and peace of mind where your children are considered. We offer a three or five day preschool program available to children aged three to five years of age. Preschool is offered every Monday, Wednesday, or Friday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm; or Monday thru Friday at the same time. An Enrichment program is also available following preschool. Enrichment runs from 12:00 to 4:00 every day. St. Boniface also offers a before care program that runs from 6:30 am to the time school starts, and an aftercare program the runs from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Preschool Every day our preschoolers come to school excited and eager to learn. Our teachers strive to plant the seeds for each child as he/she will successfully continue their future in education! Our program is primarily based on academics and similar to a kindergarten classroom. Students spend time writing letters, counting and building pre addition and subtraction skills, developing fine and gross motor ability, developing pre-reading skills necessary for learning how to read, and learn all about the wonders of God. Students have the opportunity to engage in hands on and discovery based lessons when learning math, science, and even early literacy skills. Our teachers utilize small and large group instruction to effectively reach the individual academic needs of each student. Students say prayers daily during morning during morning meeting, as well as before every snack and lunch and participate in a weekly religion lesson. Preschool students also attend Mass for all religious holidays with the rest of the school. Monthly or bi-weekly thematic units allow our students to enter into an exciting new theme. This allows our students to learn more about the world around them. Some examples would be discovering careers, how plants grow, Thanksgiving, Baby Jesus and Christmas, seasons and how things change, or even going on a U.S road trip. |

Preschool students visit the school gymnasium to play games, run around, and exercise daily. They also visit the library to check out books and attend music class once a week. Students also visit the technology lab once a week to use the computers. (Computers are also available in the classroom for daily use.)
One of the advantages of attending preschool in an elementary school is that preschool students have to opportunity to participate in several school functions. Preschoolers learn songs and dances and perform them for family and the school. In the past preschool has performed for the Christmas, Grandparents’ Day, Veterans’ Day programs, and even the Spring Concert.
Parent Communication
Parents will receive daily communication on their child’s behavior as well as weekly communication about how their child excelled academically and what their child still needs to work on, and a weekly classroom newsletter is sent home. Throughout the year students’ work is compiled into a portfolio to display his/her academic growth, and a comprehensive skill based academic sheet is completed three times a year.
Enrichment
During Enrichment students eat lunch. Students also participate in lessons centered on basic skill development, review skills learned in the past, create art activities, visit the technology lab, and explore in centers and play games in the gym. Students nap for forty five minutes to an hour, following nap student have snack time, and prepare for parents to pick them up or to transition to the aftercare program.
